Certification

econiclay products comply with "cradle to cradle" advanced material certification standards

✓ Cradle to Cradle Certified

PHOMI's econiclay products are certified under the rigorous Cradle to Cradle Products Program, meeting the highest standards across five key categories. This certification confirms our commitment to creating materials that are safe, circular, and responsibly made.

The carbon emission of 1 m² of eCovering is only 1.02 kg COâ‚‚e — 95.4% less than ceramics and 98.63% less than natural stone. Certified by Bureau Veritas under ISO 14067:2018.

1

Material Health

Uses natural inorganic materials — soil, stone waste, and non-metallic tailings. No harmful residues or emissions. Specialized surfactants create a multi-layered protective network structure.

2

Product Circularity

Easy to recycle after use. Does not break down into harmful substances. Mixing with other materials creates durable, flexible products, reducing the need for plastic and extending lifespans.

3

Clean Air & Climate Protection

Plant uses self-generated green electricity and steam. Produces at low temperatures. Entire production process releases no smoke, harmful gases, or wastewater. Inorganic — no harmful gas emissions during use or recycling.

4

Water & Soil Stewardship

Production conserves water by utilizing steam, efficiently transformed into production water during condensation. Zero wastewater generated. Non-vitrified inorganic material — no detrimental soil impact after lifecycle.

5

Social Fairness

Minimizes waste, noise, and release of harmful substances. Low-temperature manufacturing and green energy reduces environmental pollution. Class A fire rating enhances community safety and social equity.

Sustainability

The full life cycle of econiclay products

Zero Carbon Footprint for Raw Materials

The basic raw materials are based on inorganic solid waste such as urban construction waste, soil, stone factory and ceramic factory scraps, and non-metallic tailings. Zero carbon footprint at source.

Green Production Process

100°C

Molding process with green electricity and heat cogeneration. Low-temperature manufacturing eliminates wastewater and gaseous emissions. Self-generated energy on-site.

Transportation Efficiency

4 kg/m²

eCovering at 4 kg/m² versus natural stone at 70 kg/m². Reducing 94% of energy consumption during transportation — a massive carbon saving per shipment.

Endless Recycling

When dismantled, eCovering spontaneously develops into small pieces and returns to nature without detrimentally affecting the soil. Plant roots can easily enter the debris and grow. The material has a self-respiratory function and maintains a specific water absorption rate.

Certified by Bureau Veritas · ISO 14067:2018

eCoverings certified by international authoritative organisations

PHOMI's econiclay products carry internationally recognised certifications including Global GreenTag EPD, U.S. UL Green Guard, EU Fireproof Material CE, Singapore Green Label, and the ISO 14067 carbon footprint verification — among the most rigorous material certifications in the world.

1.02 kg COâ‚‚e per m² of eCovering — verified carbon footprint (cradle to grave)
95.4% Less carbon emissions than ceramic tiles
98.63% Less carbon emissions than natural stone
58% Less carbon emission of eBIPV vs traditional glass BIPV (same wattage)

Advantages of eCoverings

Aging Resistance

Built on an active inorganic-organic hybrid structure, eCoverings exhibit exceptional resistance to UV-induced aging. Compared to plastic or leather materials, they enjoy a considerably extended lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Innovation & Adaptability

The innovative econiclay materials, with their active inorganic-organic hybrid structure, create versatile products to meet application needs across sectors including construction, furniture, automotive, and luggage. Ideal alternatives to ceramics, stone, wood, and plastics.

Class A Fire Rating

Due to its inorganic nature, eCoverings achieves a Class A fire rating, making it a more competitive choice in public spaces compared to flammable plastics or textile materials, offering higher safety levels for communities.

Sustainability

Does not rely on specific mineral resources or petroleum. Low-temperature manufacturing eliminates energy consumption and wastewater. Can be recycled and regenerated, significantly reducing negative environmental impact throughout the full product lifecycle.

/3 Our Advanced Technology

econiclay — cutting edge technology for solid waste treatment

econiclay is a groundbreaking inorganic powder activation technology that harnesses the power of inorganic solid waste — including soil, stone remnants, and non-metallic tailings — as its core raw materials.

These inorganic substances are meticulously gathered, sorted, and finely crushed, transforming them into micro-scale powders. Through specialised surface-active agents at low temperatures, these particles are modified, enveloping each one with active components, resulting in a multi-layered network structure — ultimately yielding the active inorganic powder known as econiclay.

With thermoplasticity, Class A fire resistance, and flexibility, econiclay products can replace plastic parts, cement, and stone products across construction, automobiles, home appliances, and furniture.

Types of solid waste econiclay can treat
Tunnel mud & sand
Waste rock
Stony sand
Desert sand
Gobi sand
Coal & metal tailings
Construction waste
Bottom ash (BA)
Air Pollution Control Residues
